As of 2023, payment transactions performed by use of debit cards accumulated a value exceeding 71.4 billion Ghanaian cedis, roughly 4.6 billion U.S. dollars. This was the highest compared to prepaid and credit cards, which registered transaction amounts reaching around 6.7 billion GHS and 677 million GHS, respectively.
