The main reason for supporting carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the UK was the belief that it would help combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions, according to a survey conducted in Spring 2024. This was down from 87 percent in Spring 2023. The second-biggest reason for UK adults supporting CCS was that they believed it would create new jobs. As of 2024, some 45 percent of UK adults supported CCS.
