In 2023, mobile money transactions in Ghana yielded a total value of around 1.9 trillion Ghanaian cedis, roughly 121.2 billion U.S. dollars. This was a 79 percent increase from the previous year, continuing the rising trend visible since 2017. By comparison, the volume of MoMo transactions also steadily increased within that period.
