In 2023, semiconductor foundries in Taiwan accounted for 68 percent of the global capacity. By 2027, the capacity share was expected to decrease to 60 percent, with mainland China closing the gap. In the semiconductor value chain, foundries are responsible for the manufacturing of integrated circuits.
