Almost 30 percent of U.S. adults favor the phasing out of fossil fuel energy sources, according to a survey conducted in May 2024. On the other hand, 69 percent of respondents stated that they support the use of a mix of fossil fuel and renewable energy sources. Such a gap shrinks when only considering the ages between 18 and 29 years. Around 45 percent of young adults responded that they support a complete phase-out of fossil fuels.
