According to a 2024 survey conducted among exporters in the Pacific Islands, the most common extreme weather event affecting businesses in the region was extreme rainfall, with almost 40 percent of the respondents indicating this to be the case. In comparison, 37 percent of the surveyed individuals reported that increased frequency of extreme storms in the region impacted their business activities that year.
