In 2024, the BBC had 23.9 million licenses in force across the United Kingdom. That year, the number of active licenses dropped by 500,000 compared to 2023, as consumers in the country opted to cancel their household licenses. Following this trend, BBC's income from license fees decreased by two percent year-on-year.
