In a 2023 survey conducted among journalists in India regarding their fear of losing their current news media job due to their political views or ideology, about 44 percent of journalists responded that they were not worried at all. In contrast, 16 percent of journalists reported being highly worried about losing their job.

The survey excluded the journalists who were solely working independently or freelancing.Â
