The size and efficiency of wind turbines have increased greatly over the past years. In 2023, the average power rating of an offshore wind turbine was 18 megawatts, up from 9.5 megawatts in 2020. This figure is expected to increase in the next years, reaching some 25 megawatts in 2030.
