Between 2010 and 2023, the cumulative installed capacity of renewable energy in the United Kingdom rose from 9.2 gigawatts to more than 56 gigawatts. Offshore wind is the largest renewable generation technology in the country. In 2023, offshore wind farms across the UK produced almost 50 terawatt hours of power.
