As of 2023, institutional investors based in Europe held a preference for green bonds when compared to social Use-of-Proceeds (UoP) bonds. Two percent of investors favored a 90/10 percent bond split weighted towards social UoP bonds, compared to seven percent of investors having a preference for a 90 to 100 percent green bond allocation. The most popular split, with 20 percent of investors, was a preference for a 75/25 percent split in favor of green bonds.
