In 2022, around 7,504 people aged 80 years and older were tuberculosis patients in South Korea. They were the largest age group in the country to suffer from the disease, with younger age groups recording far fewer cases than older age groups. Tuberculosis is an infectious bacterial disease usually targeting the lungs.
