On European crowdfunding platforms, backers' age distributions varied greatly by model and region in 2022. In the equity model, investors aged 36-45 were the predominant group in Eastern Europe, accounting for 97 percent of investors in 2022. In Northern Europe, the market was dominated by even younger investors, aged 26-35, who made up 73 percent. Conversely, in Western Europe, older investors, aged 46 and above, were the dominant group, representing 63 percent of investors. In Southern Europe, however, no single age group dominated the market, showing a more balanced distribution across different age groups.
