The Current Policy scenario includes U.S. policies adopted as of summer 2023 and accounts for emission reductions comprised between 19 and 42 percent by 2030, compared to 2005 levels. The Joint Action scenario includes prospective emission reduction policies in the United States and total emissions reductions comprised between 41 and 52 percent in the same timeframe.
