In 2021 and 2022, 23 percent of 11-year-old girls and 13 percent of boys in England reported feeling lonely most of the time or always. This was the highest share of 11-year-olds feeling lonely among the selected European countries, followed by Poland, with 22 percent of girls and 13 percent of boys feeling lonely.
