There were almost 3.3 million bundles of used nuclear fuel stored in Canada as of 2023, after a continuous increase in the number of fuel bundles stored in the country over the past few years. Although the dry storage method accounted for almost 60 percent of the used fuel in Canada's repositories in 2023, wet storage was the most common storage type until 2018.
