The Scottish Championships, which were held on July 27 at Dumbarton, Scotland, were the third major of the 2024 pipe band competition season. Inveraray and District Pipe Band decisively won the Grade 1 competition, securing the first place from both piping adjudicators, for drumming, and second for ensemble. Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia came in second and also took the top rating for the best ensemble.
Scoring at pipe band competitions is determined by placement of judges. Points are added together, and the band with the lowest total score (due to placing highest) wins.
