China was the largest supplier of rare earth elements sourced from mining activities in 2023, accounting for around 47 kilotons of material. In comparison, Australia was one of the smallest suppliers, with only five kilotons. It is expected that by 2040, China will continue to dominate the supply of rare earth elements from mining, reaching more than 60 kilotons.
