Frequency of transport use by mode in Germany 2024

The car is the most widely used transport mode in Germany in 2024. Only one-tenth of the population never travels by car, and nearly half the population travels by car daily. Bicycles and local public transport are the most widely used, following the passenger car. While around a quarter of Germans never cycle, over a fifth use their bike daily. Meanwhile, only 16 percent of the population never use local public transport but only 12 percent use it daily.
