Men and women in France reported a similar number of average weekly trips by bike in 2023, with men reporting an average of 5.1 trips while women reported an average of 4.8 trips per week. However, there is a larger gap between men and women regarding hte average distance cycled. Men cycled an average of 34 kilometers per week, while women cycled an average of only 22 kilometers weekly.

Original survey questions: How many times did you use your bike to make the following journeys [by reason] on that day [for each day of the week]? What was the total distance travelled in kilometers for the following types of journey on that day [for each day of the week]?
Participants were split evenly between the survey period in June and October.
Participants, who had cycled in the previous seven days were asked about their trips. The data, therefore, represents two typical weeks in June and October.
The source notes that distances cycled are self-reported and likely overestimate the distance. The data is therefore most valuable as a comparison between data points.
