The small European states of Monaco, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg are the countries worldwide where the highest share of the population counts as upper class and above. In Monaco, 99 percent of the population people earned at least the equivalent of the highest 10 percent of global income earners as of 2022 in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms. The countries with the highest share of upper class consumers were also among the ones with the highest gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.
