After the start of the Israel-Hamas war in the fourth quarter of 2023, a total of 28,000 reserve soldiers from the technology sector in Israel were temporarily mobilized. This amounted to seven percent of the industry's entire workforce. Of these employees, 60 percent held roles in research and development. This outweighed the general distribution of R&D workers in the sector, which stood at 49 percent.
