In recent years, content spending of traditional TV broadcasters in the five largest European markets has flattened, with commercial companies, for example, showing a small decline to 7.96 billion euros in expenditures in 2023. Meanwhile, SVOD services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+, increased their investments in producing and acquiring TV shows and movies in the region. Additionally, the forecast suggests a further growth to over 10 billion euros in 2024, surpassing all other company types.
