According to a survey conducted in April 2024 in Japan, approximately 32.4 percent of respondents in Shikoku expressed their belief in the likelihood of being affected by a tsunami. In contrast, only 9.1 percent of the respondents in Kanto believed that they were likely to encounter a tsunami.
