Exports of crude oil are expected to bring Guyana a net value of nearly 15 billion U.S. dollars in 2024. This would be an increase of five billion U.S. dollars compared with 2022 values. Oil revenues are forecast to make up 5.7 percent of Guyana's GDP in 2024. The South American country is among the fastest-growing oil producers. In 2023, oil production in Guyana averaged close to 400,000 barrels per day.
