Between 2020 and 2023, the share of data center and IT outages worldwide caused by power disruptions has increased from 37 to 52 percent, remaining the most common root cause of such incidents. On the contrary, the number of outages caused by network or IT systems malfunction has decreased. In the last measured year, eight percent of crucial outages worldwide were caused by third-party providers, up from five percent in 2020.
