Of 461 Indian companies studied by the source, there was a general rise in the share of expenditure on sustainability as a proportion of total R and D expenditure from financial years 2022 to 2023. 117 companies increased their spending on R and on sustainability by up to 25 percent in the financial year 2023 as compared to 109 companies in the financial year 2022.
