In 2023, 61 percent of LGBT adults surveyed in the United States who racially identified as white reported having felt anxious either always or often in the past 12 months. Black and Hispanic LGBT adults in the U.S. were less likely to report feeling anxious often, in comparison to white LGBT adults. Meanwhile, around one-third of LGBT adults from all racial backgrounds reported feeling lonely and depressed throughout the past year.
