Global clean energy annual deployment saw significant growth across several key technologies in 2023. Solar PV and wind power capacity grew 85 and 60 percent, respectively, while electric car sales surged by around 35 percent to 14 million vehicles. In contrast, global sales of heat pumps fell by three percent year-on-year, owing to easing gas prices and consumers refraining on spending big in the face of inflation and higher interest rates.
