Telefónica, which operates in Spain through its brand Movistar, was the telecommunications provider that had the largest number of clients in 2023. Orange Spain and Grupo MásMóvil ranked second and third, with 23 and 15 million clients, respectively. In 2024, Orange and MásMóvil announced a joint venture, known as MásOrange and thus creating Spain's biggest mobile operator. That same year, the British operator Vodafone sold its Spanish branch to Zegona Communications.
