Global plastic waste flow 2022, by region

The amount of plastic waste flowing between regions worldwide in 2022 was highest in Europe, with almost 17 million metric tons remaining in the region. Japan and Korea, along with the Rest of the World, saw a net increase in plastic scrap in the same year, as more was imported than exported.
