Students enrolled at technical high schools in Italy 2022-2023, by type of school

In the school year 2022/2023, almost 800,000 Italian students were enrolled at istituto tecnico, upper secondary schools that offer in-depth knowledge on economic and technological subjects. After obtaining their diploma, students can choose whether to go to university or start working. More than half of undergraduates were attending istituto tecnico tecnologico, with studies centered on, among others, graphic design, electronics and electrical engineering, chemistry, agriculture, and IT.  On the contrary, almost 300,000 students studied at istituto tecnico economico, with a focus on business economics, law, accounting, marketing, and international relations.
