In the French legislative elections of 2024, the large level of polarization between three main groups (New Popular Front, presidential majority, and National Rally), but also the high participation and the low number of candidates, meant that, due to France's electoral system, there were an unprecedented number of three-way races in the second round of voting (and even two four-way races). Among the 91 triangulars and quadrangulars, the left-wing coalition of the New Popular Front won 47 seats, when the presidential majority's party won 27. In total, the National Rally and their allies only won 10 seats.

The source adds the following information: there were 89 three-way races and 2 four-way races in the second round of voting in the legislative election. In most cases, the three qualified candidates belonged to the three main blocks (New Popular Front, Ensemble, and National Rally).
*During the legislative elections in June 2024, Eric Ciotti, president of Les Républicains, decided to form a coalition with the National Rally without previous consultation with his party's leaders. Therefore, some party members chose to follow Ciotti in the alliance with the far-right, and others declared their opposition to the coalition.
