In 2023, the share of Palestinian employees working in the construction sector in Israel decreased to about 20 percent. In the period between 2011 and 2019, the percentage of Palestinian workers consistently grew and remained generally stable until 2023. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023, the Israeli governmentsharply reduced the number of Palestinians permitted to work in Israel.
