On the eve of October 7, 2023, approximately 165,000 Palestinian workers from the West Bank and Gaza worked in Israel. Following the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, the number of Palestinians permitted to work in Israeli towns was sharply reduced to just 15,000. Over recent decades, the Israeli and Palestinian economies have grown interdependent, particularly in the construction and agricultural sectors.
