Members of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) identified public perception and negative press coverage as the biggest challenges facing the voluntary carbon market (VCM) in 2023. The quality of carbon credits was the next biggest challenge facing the VCM, with respondents raising concerns about the need for clear rules on which credits are eligible for corporate entities to use.
