In the first quarter of 2024, the total value of credit card transactions in Israel amounted to over 124 billion Israeli shekels (around 33 billion U.S. dollars). This represents a 12.5 percent increase in credit card spending from the fourth quarter of 2023. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7th, credit card transactions fell sharply. This was accompanied by a significant decline in consumer confidence.
