On the June 9, 2024, after the results of the European elections, President Emmanuel Macron decided to dissolve the National Assembly. This came shortly after his party was defeated by National Rally, the far-right party of Marine Le Pen, and their young leader, Jordan Bardella. According to a survey conducted a few days after the election, most respondents had a negative impression of the dissolution and indicated they felt incomprehension, fear, or anger. On the other hand, around one-quarter of the respondents declared feeling hopeful after the dissolution.
