Breakdown of outdoor air quality funding worldwide 2017-2021, by destination
Between 2017 and 2021, International development funders committed approximately 14.2 billion U.S. dollars to global projects focussed on tackling outdoor air pollution. A high concentration of these funds went to countries within Asia, with China alone accounting for 37 percent. The world's two most polluted countries in 2023, Bangladesh and Pakistan, received 17 and six percent of funds, respectively.
