Between 2018 and 2022, International development funders committed approximately 16 billion U.S. dollars to global projects focussed on tackling outdoor air pollution. A high concentration of these funds went to countries within Asia, with the Philippines alone accounting for 30 percent. The world's two most polluted countries in 2023, Bangladesh and Pakistan, received 23 and two percent of funds, respectively.
