Overall, the volume of active SIM cards in Belgium increased steadily from 2021 to 2023. As of 2023, the majority of active SIM cards were 4G SIM cards, although 5G cards were on the rise. In total, there were over three million active 5G SIM cards in Belgium in 2023.
