Plastic recyclers and installed capacity in India 2023, by resin
As of 2023, roughly seven out of 10 plastic recyclers in India processed polyolefins. At the time, only six percent of recycling units processed PET. Nevertheless, despite the lower number of recyclers, over one-third of the installed recycling capacity in the South Asian country was for PET, while some 46 percent of capacity was for processing polyolefins. In general, the average PET recycling plant has a much larger capacity than that of polyolefins processors.
