Global number of deaths from household air pollution 1990-2021
There were approximately 3.1 million deaths worldwide attributable to household air pollution in 2021. Although this was an increase from the previous year, the number of deaths from air pollution from burning solid fuels in households for cooking, heating, or other domestic tasks have decreased by more than 35 percent since 2000.
