Survey on a possible ban of the AfD in Germany 2024, by social markers
The AfD, Alternative für Detuschland, is a right wing political party in Germany. There are some who view the party as a right-wing extremist party and therefore the discussion about whether the party should be banned or not has been brought about. However, the hurdles for a party ban by the Federal Constitutional Court are high in Germany, so opinions on initiating party ban proceedings against the AfD are divided. In January 2024, almost 45 percent of people in Germany were in favor of a ban on the AfD.
