According to the results of a survey conducted in 2024, close to a third of baby boomer pet owners in Italy spent less than an hour a day caring for their pets. On the other hand, 13 percent of Generation Z spent between three to five hours per day taking care of them.

The question was phrased as follows: "Quanto tempo dedica ogni giorno alle cure del suo/suoi animale domestico (inclusi pasti, pulizia, giochi, passeggiate)?"
Generation Z are considered those between 16 and 26 years old.
Millennials are considered those between 27 and 40 years old.
Generation X are considered those between 41 and 56 years old.
Baby boomers are considered those between 57 and 74 years old.
