As of 2021, Benin retained the highest penetration rate of financial service points in the West African Monetary Union, at 290 service points per 10,000 adults. This was followed by Mali and Guinea-Bissau. In contrast, Niger registered the lowest number of service points in the region, at 20 service points per 10,000 adults.
