Solid biofuels and renewable waste energy capacity in LAC by country 2023
In 2023, Brazil had the largest solid biofuels and waste energy capacity in Latin America, reaching almost 17.1 gigawatts. The combined bioenergy capacity for Latin America and the Caribbean was approximately 3.6 gigawatts. Cuba and Mexico were the second and third highest in the region, with capacities of 951 megawatts and 918 megawatts, respectively.
