Opinions on whether Italians are corruptible 2024
Almost two thirds of the respondents believed that Italians are very likely to be corrupted. In fact, 57 percent of the interviewees stated that their compatriots would take a bribe, or they would bribe someone else, if they had the chance to make more money. On the contrary, only 16 percent of Italians affirmed that their fellows would never accept money in exchange for favors. These findings overlap with the pattern of the Corruption Perceptions Index, which recorded an increasing trend since 2012.
