In 2023, Brazil had the largest bioenergy capacity in Latin America, reaching 17.6 gigawatts. The combined bioenergy capacity for Latin America and the Caribbean was approximately 24.3 gigawatts. Mexico and Cuba were the second and third highest in the region, with capacities of 987 megawatts and 966 megawatts, respectively.
