Mexico: electric car sales by the country of origin of carmakers 2021-2023

Most of the Mexican electric vehicle sales between 2021 and 2023 were from manufacturers which were neither domestic nor Chinese carmakers. In 2023, some 11,400 electric cars from these other carmakers (which include automakers such as Tesla and the Volkswagen Group) were sold in Mexico. This was over double the sales volume from Chinese manufacturers. This differentiates Mexico from other Latin American countries, where Chinese carmakers have a stronger presence.
