Distribution of seats in Indian general elections 2024, by state
As of 2024, the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, with 80 seats, had the highest number of seats allocated in the Lok Sabha. Of these, 36 seats were won by the NDA and 43 by the INDIA party. Maharashtra had the second-highest number of seats in the general elections. Out of a total of 543 seats in the lower House of the Parliament, the NDA secured 293, and the Congress-led opposition alliance, known as the INDIA, won 234 seats in 2024. With this general election, NDA lost the majority it had held for a decade.
